Dental Implants

The loss of a tooth isn’t just an aesthetic concern. It’s a practical one. Here at Southill Dental, we offer several practical solutions.

If you are missing one or more teeth, dental implants might just be the best option for you.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are essentially the roots for a prosthetic tooth, which will fill the gap left by the missing tooth with a natural-looking replica.

They start with a tiny titanium rod. This rod is placed securely into the jawbone, acting as the root for your new tooth. Eventually these roots will actually fuse to your jawbone, creating a strong internal structure.

Once this titanium implant is in place, we place a crown over it. This is extremely similar to traditional dental crowns, which cover teeth that have weak enamel. Together, these two structures form an entirely functional tooth replacement.

Dental implants are durable. They can be used to replace one, multiple, or even a full arch of teeth. They are every bit as easy to maintain as a natural tooth.

Best of all, dental implants are easy and convenient. We refer implant patients to a specialist right here in our building, after which we’ll bring them back into our office to place the crown. One stop for the entire procedure.

Smile Confidently Again!

You deserve to laugh, smile, and chew without hesitation, and dental implants will do just that. But why do so many patients choose dental implants over traditional dentures or dental bridges?

The truth is that dental implants offer some amazing benefits that other tooth replacements just can’t top. Some of these benefits include:

  • Your face keeps its natural shape, especially around the cheeks and mouth.
  • No slurring, stuttering, or lisping because of equipment malfunction.
  • Implants keep the gums, jaw, and other teeth healthy.
  • Chew with no fear—implants are fully functional.
  • They actively prevent jawbone deterioration.
  • They are extremely successful.
  • They last longer than any other tooth replacement.

With so many benefits, dental implants are a great way to get your chewing and speaking abilities back!
